Depending on the structural-textural characteristics, volcanic rocks could be utilazed as broken and profiled stones, crushed stones of different granulation, used for railroads, roads and concrete, as well as architectural (decorative) stones (interiors, exterior, sculptural stone etc.). The most commonly exploited rocks here are diabase and serpentinite, than gabro and rarely peridotite. The degree of the exploration of these resources is not at a satisfying level yet. У студији су описана сва лежишта еруптивних стијена која су истражена у сврху коришћења као технички грађевински камен, као и распрострањења еруптивних стијена перспективних за детаљна истраживања. У зависности од структурно-текстурних карактеристика еруптивне стијене у Републици Српској имају примјену као ломљен и профилисан (обрађен) камен, камен дробљен у различитој гранулацији за пруге, путеве и бетон и као архитектонски (украсни) камен (ентеријери, екстеријери, скулпторски камен итд). Најчешће експлоатисане стијене код нас су дијабази и серпентинити, затим габро и ријеђе перидотит. Степен истражености ове сировине још увијек није на задовољавајућем нивоу. After collecting the available documentation and consolidating the data on the results of all previous investigations of mineral resources in the territory of the Republic of Srpska, a graphical processing followed, all with the aim of promoting these significant resources through the aforementioned Study. Студија о распрострањењу, саставу и употребљивости еруптивних стијена на простору Републике Српске урађена је у складу са Дугорочним програмом развоја основних геолошких истраживања Републике Српске. Након прикупљања расположиве документације и обједињавања података о резултатима свих досадашњих истраживања минералних сировина на простору Републике Српске усљедила је графичка обрада а све са циљем промоције ових значајних ресурса кроз поменуту Студију.
