Marine Scotland (MSO) Geophysical Survey 2012/2_MS: North coast Scotland – West Mainland Orkney (27/Feb/2012 to 12/Mar/2012)

This marine geophysical survey took place in February/March 2012 in the area of North coast Scotland and Orkney on board the FRV Alba Na Mara. The survey was carried out by the British Geological Survey (BGS) on behalf of Marine Scotland. Sub bottom seismic profiling data were collected using an Applied Acoustics surface tow boomer (STB). These data are archived by BGS and are also available on Marine Scotland Interactive (MSI) - http://www.gov.scot/Topics/marine/science/MSInteractive/Themes/Renewables/Data. Technical details of the survey are contained in the Report of Survey.

Geophysical equipment types used included: Surface Tow Boomer. British Geological Survey was contracted to undertake the survey on behalf of Marine Scotland. For more detailed information on the acquisition equipment and data collection techniques, operational standards, data processing methods and quality control procedures used on this survey see the Report of Survey/Cruise Report and associated documentation where available. The information available may vary depending on the age of the survey. Data are checked and loaded to the BGS Coastal and Marine data management system following BGS marine data management procedures.
