2000 Strategic Environmental Assessment SEA1. Heavy metals analysis for samples from Charles Darwin Cruise 123 (Faroe Shetland Channel)

As part of Strategic Environmental Assessment SEA1, sediment samples were collected at the request of the Department of Trade and Industry (now Department of Energy and Climate Change) a survey programme was conducted from the NERC Royal Research Ship (RRS) Charles Darwin between July and September 2000, with samples for a number of chemical and biological analyses being collected. An Excel file containing details of heavy metal analysis is available.

Data Quality

Sediment samples were collected by Geotek Ltd from RRS Charles Darwin in summer between July and September 2000 (cruise 123) using various grabbing and coring equipment as part of the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change's Offshore Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment programme. Samples were analysed for heavy metal content. Geotek Ltd were responsible for the overall survey management with ERT (Scotland) being sub-contracted to provide sampling and analytical support.
