The D layer represents depth to groundwater table from the surface, reclassified to D index values from 1 to 10 according to class breaks proposed by Aller et al. (1987).

Groundwater surface was compiled from national depth-to-watertable datasets with 10km grid resolution (INSPIRE reference grid).The depth-to-water scores 1 - 10 are provided as 4 byte integer numbers in .tif format
