Data Quality

Lineage (How data are created and model is calibrated): Recharge values are calculated using the Netherlands Hydrological Instrument (NHI). NHI is an integrated model including groundwater, surfacewater, and the vadose zone, using a a spatial resolution of 250 m and a temporal resolution of 1 day (De Lange et al, 2014). The model is forced by climate parameters as provided by the Dutch Meteorological institute. Recharge values are verified as they produce acceptable water balance when used to drive the national scale numerical groundwater flow simulator.
