The maps are composed using a computer model that recognizes the possible source areas/trigger areas of rockfall based on the slope on the mountain side and geological information. From each source area/trigger area the runout area for rockfall are calculated automatically. It's not done any field survey in preparing the maps.

Constraints

Copy Data from NGU shall not, without special permission is granted, be reused in WMS/WFS services which the customer / user might want to set up for internal / external reuse. If the customer / user want to include copy data from NGU in their own WMS/WFS solutions, the prepared WMS/WFS services from NGU should be used directly in the solutions.Your use of any information provided by the NGU is at your own risk. No limitations. This is an exemplification of data / data service and displays 'NGU Geohazards - Rockfall susceptibility in Norway’ as a version from April 2010. The data / data service is not updated since 2010. NVE (Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate) is from January 2014 responsible for the distribution and administration of the data.
