Detrital zircon U-Pb ages from the Taklamakan Desert, the Yellow River, and the Chinese Loess Plateau. (NERC grant NE/I009248/1)

The dataset contains detrital zircon U-Pb ages from a large scale detrital provenance study of modern and recent sand and silt from the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP) and its proposed sources in the Yellow River, its Tibetan headwaters, and the Taklamakan Desert, which lies upwind from the CLP. Data Quality

U-Pb ages were measured by LA-ICP-MS at the London Geochronology Centre (UCL) using an Agilent 7700x ICP-MS coupled to an NWR193 UV laser. Data processing was done with GLITTER software.
