This is a polygon .shp file of 12,920 Asia Summer Monsoon (ASM) - triggered landslides that occurred across central-eastern Nepal in the period 1988 - 2018. This inventory includes the landslide locations, perimeters (Length field), areas and pre-/post- monsoon season satellite image dates used to map each landslide.Note, landslides were not mapped in the years 2011 and 2012 due to scan line errors in Landsat 7 imagery. These landslides were mapped for a range of purposes, from conducting landslide suscept...

This is a polygon shapefile inventory of 183 coseismic and climate-triggered landslides in the south-western portion of Langtang Valley Nepal. All mapped landslides were those visible in the landscape during the period 2017 – 2018. Landslides were mapped using a combination of field and remote sensing methodologies (see lineage). The inventory includes the landslide locations, perimeters (Length field), areas, types, and whether a given landslide was mapped in the field or remotely. These landslides were m...

Polygon shapefile including 481 coseismic and climate triggered landslides mapped along the Arniko Highway, Nepal, using a combination of field mapping and remote sensing. All mapped landslides were those visible in the landscape during the period 2017 – 2018. Landslides were mapped using a combination of field and remote sensing methodologies (see lineage). The inventory includes the landslide locations, perimeters (Length field), areas, types (for field mapped landslides), and whether a given landslide w...

The Geological Survey Ireland (GSI), as partner and Work Package 7 (Minerals) leader of EMODnet Geology Phase III, are compiling information on Polymetallic nodules. EMODnet partners are submitting the spatial extent of mapped polymetallic nodules and existing information; here you can view data collated thus far. The information presented here are of mapped extents of polymetallic nodules within participating surveys national Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ). Polymetallic nodules are also known as manganese...

The GSI, as partner and Work Package 7 Minerals leader of EMODnet Geology Phase II, are compiling information on Polymetallic sulphides PMS. EMODnet partners are submitting mapped PMS locations and existing information, here you can view data collated thus far. The PMS information presented here are of mapped PMS locations. Also known as Volcanogenic Massive Sulfides (VMS), Seafloor Massive Sulfides (SMS) and Black Smokers, PMS are base metal sulfur-rich mineral deposits. They occur along the earth’s major...

The datasets contain 40 time-resolved segmented X-ray micro-tomographic images showing mineral dissolution of carbonate rock samples containing dolomite and calcite via CO2 acidified brine fluid flow at reservoir conditions. The tomographic images were acquired at a voxel-resolution of 5.2 µm and time-resolution of 33 minutes. The data were collected with lab based microCT, with an aim of investigating the influences of rock mineral and physical heterogeneity on dissolution patterns and changes to dynamic ...

A pore-scale experimental investigation of microscopic steady-state flow during co-injection from very low to high flow rates in the pore space of a sandstone is applied using 4D synchrotron X-ray micro-tomography to advance our understanding of flow regimes. We report the results of micro-CT imaging experiments directly visualizing the simultaneous flow of both a wetting and a non-wetting fluid through a Bentheimer sandstone, at pore-scale resolution. For small flow rates, both fluids flow through unchang...

The data include the following: 1. Simulation input files (parameters used in free energy Lattice Boltzmann simulations). 2. Results from these simulations and the corresponding analysis, as presented in the manuscript "Pore scale modeling of drainage displacement patterns in association with geological sequestration of CO2". Free energy lattice Boltzmann method: A thermodynamically consistent numerical scheme to solve the hydrodynamic equations of motion, associated with two-phase flow at the pore-scale. ...

We investigated the physical basis of this weakened trapping using pore scale observations of supercritical CO2 in mixed-wet carbonates. The wetting alteration induced by oil provided CO2-wet surfaces that served as conduits to flow. In situ measurements of contact angles showed that CO2 varied from nonwetting to wetting throughout the pore space, with contact angles ranging 25° <θ< 127°; in contrast, an inert gas, N2, was nonwetting with a smaller range of contact angle 24° <θ< 68 °. Observations of trapp...
