The maps show the soil cover of the Czech Republic. They express the typological affiliation of the soil in the "Taxonomic classification system of soils of the Czech Republic" (Němeček et al., 2011), or the version for forest soils (Vokoun et al., 2002), i.e. soil type, subtype, soil variety, or subvariety. The data for the selected map sheets also contain data on the soil parent material in a classification based on the legend of the Geological Map of the Czech Republic 1:50,000, supplemented by classifi...

The map of the "Soil Regions of the European Union and Adjacent Countries 1:5,000,000 (Version 2.0)" is published by the Federal Institute of Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), in partnership with the Joint Research Center (JRC, Ispra). The soil regions map is intended to support the current national mapping activities towards a European 1:250,000 datbase by stratifying similar regional soil associations into a hierarchical concept. Only by stratification, the complexity of soils can be systematicall...

Soil-type map of Denmark 1:200.000 version 2.An interpreted overview map of surface geology in Denmark. The map shows a countrywide classification and distribution of soil types (mostly glacial and postglacial sediments) at the surface of Denmark. The soil types are divided into 12 different legend items. The map has a scale of 1:200.000, and is suited for educational use and as a background layer for other mapped themes. The map is published in GEUS report 2011/19.

Two geochemical surveys were undertaken in the Solomon Islands between 1976 and 1983 as part of a combined geological mapping and mineral exploration project. The survey of Choiseul and the Shortland Islands was carried out between 1976 and 1979 by the Institute of Geological Sciences (now the British Geological Survey) with support from staff of the Geology Division of the Ministry of Land, Energy and Natural Resources, Solomon Islands. The project produced 12 geological maps at 1:50,000 scale as well as ...
