This service is an INSPIRE download WFS service, providing surface geological data at 1:1000 000 scale. GeoServer software is used to provide this WFS service. This service is delivering MappedFeatures specified by GeologicUnits, the geological history of which is recorded by GeologicEvents.
Paper, Surface charge and growth of sulphate and carbonate green rust in aqueous media, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta and associated data. NERC grant: Re-inventing the planet: The Neoproterozoic revolution in oxygenation, biogeochemistry and biological complexity
The study in three coal mining regions: Lower Silesia, Upper Silesia and Lublin (each N=500) was conducted using Computer Assisted Web Interview (CAWI). The questionnaire includes the block of questions concerning mine water awareness, climate change and local/place attachment. The survey online took 15 to 20 minutes and was prepared after in-depth pilot research among participants with different education level from the mining regions. We used the uninformed approach to the survey, so there were no additi...
Likelihood of occurrence (below seafloor) of marine hydrates in the sediment column, and subsequently the likelihood of them being affected by dissociation processes resulting from natural or human-induced activities (liquefaction, explosions, collapse, crater-like depressions or submarine landslides). Rock magnetic data corresponding to demagnetisation (LIV_DEMAG) and paleointensity (LIV_PI) data submitted as part of this grant. This data is divided into two subfolders, "Kappabridge" and "VFTB", corresponding to the instrument used to acquire the data. Those folders each contain one or more folders labelled with a four letter code, corresponding to a specific locality and/or experiment type, matching the letter codes in LIV_DEMAG and LIV_PI. The Kappabridge folders then contain raw data files of tempera...
This dataset contains raw data from synthetic and experimental velocity steps analyzed using the MATLAB routine ‘steadystate.m’, as presented by Giacomel, P., Faulkner, D.R., Lambert, V., Allen, M.J (2024): ‘steadystate: A MATLAB-based routine for determining steady-state friction conditions in the framework of rate- and state- friction analysis’ – GSA, Geosphere. The data is provided in .zip folder containing the Velocity Steps and the outputs from steadystate.m, along with the scripts used to generate th...
Dataset contains 3D synthetic seismic waveforms for axisymmetric global Earth velocity models. The waveforms were calculated using the finite difference approach with the PSVAxi algorithm (Jahnke, G et al., 2008. doi:10.1111/j.1365-246X.2008.03744.x). The Earthmodels are 1D and use PREM parameters except close to the core-mantle boundary (CMB) where 3D ultra-low velocity zones (ULVZs) are added to the PREM background model. ULVZ are thin layers of strongly reduced seismic velocities located at the CMB that...
Synthetic seismic waveforms computed using the spectral element method for 1-D and 3-D Earth models for a variety of scenarios of structures in the deep Earth's interior.
The database containing information on mineral and energy resources of Poland and the exploitation of deposits. It provides access to information on: - deposits (deposits details, data on raw material, deposits resources and output); - mining areas and mining countries as well as related concessions; - mineral resources management (domestic export and import of ra materials, world production, demand, export and import of selected raw materials); - deposits location on the map of Poland.
In this study data were collected from viruses in groundwater from urban poor settlements in Arusha, Tanzania, Dodowa (Accra), Ghana, and Kampala, Uganda. The published Open Access paper can be viewed here https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsestwater.0c00306
